I reckon I've got the distributor and points in OK, as - after a lot of reading and comparing the manuals - I got it all together. Fired up second try. Bit rough, but hope to sort that tomorrow. Hav

This is the reason that I try to stay away from the electronic ignition. Because when it fails and not IF it fails. It will let you down at the most inopertune time and in the worst location. Also th

Wow David.... I've never disagreed with you... BUT I do about this... the reliability of an electronic ignition far outstrips that of points... they start easier last longer and virtually never give

We install several of the Pertronix as well as the Crane systems in many cars at the request of owners as well as the newer cars that had electronic ignition. And like I said they will fail some day

Well, I suppose that once you know how - which I suppose I do now - you can carry set of points/condenser in the boot and swap back to points if the electronic setup goes bad. What about the 123 dist

Hi David, I partly agree. However, 'if" you can afford to carry a spare Pertronix, the module can be changed almost as quickly as fiddling with the points. I have carried one for years, just in case,

Sorry, but I have to agree with Dave Nock on this. I see more poorly running classic cars with electronic ignition systems than you might believe. At least with points they can generally be repaired

Well, Simon, the 123ignition is no compromise. With 123ignition you go "fully electronically", which gives you a handful of advantages. If you would kindly read about it on my website I don't have to
