I need some clarification. I understand what a PCV valve does, but the term oil separator keeps coming up. What is an "oil separator" what is the 3/4" diameter pipe turned downward on the front lifte

Are we calling the side covers under the intake/exhaust manifolds the timing covers? I had always known them as lifter covers or side covers. What english motor doesn't leak oil?

Hi Bruce, The parts book lists this as "vent pipe". You are certainly going to need one on your engine, but getting it so the oily fumes won't get on your newly cleaned engine and engine compartment

Bruce, the timing cover is at the front of the engine, covering the timing chain, hence the name. The 1275 doesn't have the lifter/side/tappet covers, that's why they moved the breather to the timin
