Ok, here is the problem... started with the speedo not working So I remove the cable, cable is OK. Remove the plastic gear and shaft, worn out in one place. Replace the plastic gear and shaft, go to

Hi Ben - I've recently been inside my 5speed, and couldn't help learning a bit about the four speeds at the same time. Reverse (and 5th if so equipped) are on a separate shift fork than 1&2 and 3&4.

There is no correlation between you fiddling with the speedo drive and reverse not working. Kyle was right when he mentioned that reverse has, in the 4 speed, its own shifter rod. I have 2 4 speeds
