IMO electronic ignitions are _less_ reliable than points, in the sense that they are more likely to suffer a failure that prevents the car from running at all. Points will almost always get you home

I was under the impression the Crane unit "amplified" the spark (voltage? amperage?) in a way the Pertronix ignitor did not? Is this true, or malarky, or meaningless? Why do I seem to be asking a lot
