I'd like to learn from your experience if someone can figure it out, because it sounds as if you did everything right to me, too! The only thing that comes to mind is how much primer did you apply?

I'm no expert on paint, but one lesson I've learned the hard way is that the surface has to be absolutely clean, and lacquer thinner won't take off everything. Since I switched to using DuPont Acryl

Just a couple of thoughts here. Not being a TR6 expert, isn't the wheel aluminum? Whether it is or not may have something to do with the non-adherence of your primer. Echoing Randall Young's suggesti

Absolutely correct. My mistake. (Although my can does say "Acryli-Clean" not "Acryli-Clear" <g>) The part number appears to be DX-330. Randall

Actually, it's my mistake. I meant to say Acryli-Clean not Acryli-Clear. There is a similar product sold by NAPA under the trade name "FIN-L-WASH" 6387. But it is sold only in gallons and is about 25

the A late repy I know...just got home , but isn't a rougher surface needed for adhesion of the primer? I'd sand with 240 grit or so to give the primer something to hang onto. 800 grit must have made
