- Don't remember colors on the wiring, but the field coil is the one with the smaller spade on the back of the generator. Greg Lemon 54 BN1

- The yellow/green wire is the field. You only need to touch the terminal long enough to cause a spark. I mean like milliseconds. Bill Lawrence

- Gary, I didn't see a response to this one on list, I have done it a few 1. Disconnect the Battery Terminals and Switch Polarity (make sure ignition is off first) This is easier if you have gone to on
