I did the conversion while at Smitty's shop (emergency basis), reused the BN1 clutch with no problems and drove the car back to Maryland. I later put in a BJ8 diaphragm clutch which is much smoother

Hi Tracy, You may very well be on to the problem. A thin disc would allow the pressure plate release fingers to set higher, closer to the throw out bearing. A thicker disc would cause the fingers to
