After you try to start it, pull a plug, look at it, and smell it. If it is wet and/or smells of fuel, it's getting fuel. Dry all the plugs before your next trial if they are wet. My guess is it isn't

Timing at this point isn't at all critical. It will start within maybe +/- 20 or 30 degrees. For rough-in after rebuild, the manuals say just set #1 to TDC, then rotate the distributor until the poin

I disagree here. Try taking your rotor off then turn the engine over.....it will turn over very fast. Why? I don't know. I just know from experience that a the engine turn over faster without a spar
