I'd like opinions or verifiable facts as to what the proper color of Armstrong lever shocks should be. Should they be all black?, arms only black and bodies "natural" (kind of a duct tape color;-),

I will half-answer this and at the same time solicit help from others on the list. In a nutshell, it is my understanding that the cars were shipped with black shocks. The shocks in other colors were

My Bugeye came with black shocks when I got it in 65-66 so they were probably original. I had the shocks replaced by a British Motors place in New Jersey in 69 and they were also black. FWIW
