I have a pair of 1500 Spitfires, which I plan to slowly build into a racer. I don't know yet what organization I'll be with, and truthfully, by the time I get it done, the rules may well change. But

Before you go any further, decide which groups you plan to run with because very few vintage racing groups will allow the 1500 Spitfire (too new for most). Most clubs cut off at 1972. You don't want

Save the time and effort, on the West Coast only VARA and HSR will accept the car, CSRG, HMSA, General Racing, and SOVREN have no interest. "Bang for the Buck" that's a great topic. my vote would be

No, I think he's got the right one to get the most bang for the buck, since it's pretty damn hard to keep those 1500's from going bang, or is that BANG!!!! ___________________________________________

Don's not quite correct about the west coast. Both the San Francisco Region and Oregon Region of SCCA will probably let you run with their vintage groups. I don't know how often SFR runs a vintage gr

Think SFR SCCA runs two vintage events, Laguna Seca and Thunderhill. .... I don't know how often SFR runs a vintage group .....
