It was my understanding that the speedometer has nothing to do with the transmission being OD or not. I think the speedo gear is driven off the trans output shaft, at least with the J type OD. The OD

You don't need to do anything on some TRs. My 72 TR6 needed no recalibration when I added an O/D gearbox; the cable drive gearing was the same. Mark Hooper 72 TR6 That's some big money. Am I wrong in

I don't know about TR6's. But there is one twist to this. On the GT6's sent to the left side of The Pond, the cars with OD had a different diff. So there would a difference in the speedo drive. -- Ji

It's true the speedo head would be different from an original OD car, but you would not need to change it when adding OD, unless you also changed the rear end ratio. Standard final drive for the TR6
