I presume all of the people who dropped a V8 into their MGB had the tach problem. I already have the description on how to change the original 4 cylinder tach to 8 cylinder but I would appreciate wor

I'm not aware of any other no-brainer solutions, other than the programmable EFI solution. The Electromotive box allows you to put out a pulse signal for a particular tach, regardless of the engine,

Someone will have the specifics but here's the basics. The tach in a 'B (or TR7 for that matter -- those guys face the same problem) is based on a frequency to voltage convertor. This circuit takes

I have used Autometer & VDO with no problems. They are switchable 4, 6, or 8 cyl. Some problems may arise if you are running an MSD ignition with the VDO, & you may need a filter (more money, from VD

To add to Keith's words, I'd use as high of a value as I can find (many mega-ohms) since you want as little current passing through it as possible. These types of pots are often called "trimmer pots"

Just been talking to Martyn Harvey. He told me about an SD1 tach swap - so I got myself an SD1 tach - and this is what you do! First, one must remember we are talking 100mm gauges (77-80 dash) Take

I have a modified TR7 tach in my TR8. I took the original TR8 gauge out when I replaced the faces with white faced ones that I made. The tachometer was modified by a friend with instructions that I s

Yes if you want to match resistors, you can make a voltage divider with just one additional resistor, but depending on the value in the car, and the available values (tolerances) at RatShack, you may
