My '75 1500 Midget has a device tee-d midway into the top radiator hose. It has a sensor with 4, 1/8th inch vacuum line connectors as part of the smog system. I don't see any references in shop manua

I wondered the same thing, but it looks so original and fits the existing equipment like it belongs. Perhaps you're right though... maybe it was installed by a dealer or repair shop along the way. I

Gerard, Sounds like a NOX smog device. They controlled the vacuum to the distributor till the temp came up. They were a rotten devise that we had to retrofit to older cars here in CA. Later repealed

So it sounds like I should either remove it or connect the vacuumm lines per the shop manual and ignore this device. Is this the case? Is there anything else involved in this retrofit? Thank you. Ge
