I saw this this morning and I thought it might be of interest to some of the listers. Anybody ever use the stuff? NFI, etc. Some of the post further on also claim it works well. The way I blow holes

I picked up a 2lb spool of this stuff at lunch. After about 10 minutes of trial and error I could lay a nice bead on 22 gauge sheetmetal without burning through. I had to move fast, but I think I cou

question oh burning through steel one? is it an alloy wire? solid or flux type? what makes this stuff work where the previous stuff did not? and what was your prior wire size, same or bigger? chuck i

Prior wire size 0.025, standard MIG wire, non-flux The J.W. Harris comes only in 0.030 The J.W. Harris 20 gauge wire has a flux/powder core but you use it with a gas shielding, 25%/75%. This stuff is

I looked into this stuff a while back a little. Haven't used it myself (yet) but I've yet to find any negative comments about it. Apparently the flux is in a tiny pellet form and kind of "shoots out"

i have used flux core wire for quite a while. while a lot of folks hate the alleged "spatter" or "dirt" it makes , it does a nice job at low voltage on thin stuff. on my next wire purchase i'm going

I don't think that wire has a flux core, it seems to be filled with iron powder of somekind. The data sheet does not mention flux anywhere. I know that iron powder in stick welding helps to fill and

So here's a question then for you welding experts :) How do you think this stuff would work with 100% CO2 rather than 75/25 CO2/Argon. I use the 100% at the moment and when I tried to get my tank wil

Why did they say you need a new tank? I didn't think the tank mattered. The data sheet says either mix will work. But supposedly you will get more splatter with just C02. Adding argon to the mix hel

When I enquired about filling the tank with 75/25 I was told that it needed a different tank with a different valve arrangement. Maybe this was just sales talk but I had to go with it. It this incorr

I'm no welding expert by any stretch of the imagination. But my "newness" to welding did force me to do a little research when it came time to buying and filling a tank to go with my welder. At any r

Well, I got caught in that one, sort of. Took my bottle in to be exchanged at a small welding supply place near me. Got the "new" exchange one and off I go. Next time I take it in to be filled, diff

What's the date on your new tank? If I buy my tank from the local supplier then the inspections are free and I never have to worry about the date. Crash Incidentally, I think I got a pretty good deal
