- Do you replace the O-ring in the dash pot during the rebuild. It sounds like oil is leaking from the dash pot into the carb and being burned off. To replace the O-ring you will have to fish the star

- There is an 'O' ring around the needle adjusting screw inside the piston that may be the problem. Mine was leaking very badly until I replaced this. The oil still leaks out over time but not nearly
