Sounds like bad grounds at the rear of the car. If your '74 is like my '69 (chrome bumpers), all the rear grounds are connected to lugs on one of the license plate mounting bolts, inside the boot. I

someone SNIP...... Kelly, I believe the clutch and brake pedal are on the same pivot shaft. Is it possible that as you depress the clutch that the movement of the pedal actually moves the brake pedal
