Maybe some people have really bad luck with hydraulics, but I can't imagine a cable clutch being less work overall than hydraulics. Adjusting a cable is usually more finicky and time consuming than r

I've done some digging and a lot of era cars come equipped w/ cable clutches I'll admit, there are a lot of trucks and SUVs w/ hydraulics (my Isuzu Trooper among them), but I've had very good service

My first car, a 1936 Ford, had cable operated brakes. I pretty much ran into anything that got in front of me. I finally put a 6 foot long 2x6 on for a front bumper to protect the radiator :-) Larry

Both of my VWs had cable-operated clutches (85 Scirocco, 95 GTI VR6), as did my first car, an 80 Audi 4000. Replaced the cable (along with the clutch) in the 4000, but the others were bulletproof. I'
