I'm thinking about putting in a Quaife differential. The shop manual shows a special tool for spreading the casing to removing the diff. Anyone know of a similar modern tool or a good way to fabricat

Another old trick is to use a really big vice, or pipe clamps, or what ever else you can rig up to compress the case. The official tool stretches the sides of the case outward to allow the bearings
