While on this subject, what about the hose on my 1974 RWA 1275 Midget that connects the gas cap to the tank? Is there an easy way to remove this? (other than throwing lighted matches at it of course)

I replaced all of the flexible fuel lines in my '75 MGB with the braided steel type. They are much stiffer and more rigid than anything I've used before, and can be a little difficult to work with. B

Check the lines leading to the Vapor Separator - the black round thingy bolted on the right inner rear fender just forward of the taillights. If these lines are loose or shot you will get a gas smel
