The best thing would be to spin the oil pump after taking out the distributor but a close second is to remove all the spark plugs disconnect the distributor lead from the coil and turn the starter ov

Mine sit for most of the winter, I do start occasionally. once a month if I I find that the darn things are hard to start, so I don't step on the pedal or pull the choke (SU's) for a couple of second
