Hello all from a perrennial lurker. While the Meejut is sleeping under winter anesthesia, i though I'd replace the wire wheel hubs in the rear. Wheels as well of course as they are all shot. So I got

The easiest way to separate the hub from the shaft (and fit the new hub) is to find a workshop that has a bearing press. The welch plug will need replacing. Make sure that each side shaft remains th

Basket = differential housing! Necessary to open for shaft replacement? How about heat to remove hub? I have heat, but don't have bearing press. Could find one though... I don't know why I have wire

<< What about a gear puller? >> I tried a hub puller without success - a DECENT gear puller might get the hub off the shaft but you are still going to need a bearing press to get the new hub back on.
