I never thought about this one...... TRF's recent sale catalog has a note (p2) re. the use of a sport coil with an electronic ignition system. The note: dont do it. Perhaps I'm living dangerously but

The deal on sport coils and electronic ignitions is, if I remember correctly, that some sport coils are designed for 12 volt input. They have more windings that multiply 12 volts to a higher voltage.

I think the sport coil is designed to run unballasted. On '72 and up TR6's, the wiring harness incorporates a resistor wire. If you hook the sport coil up to the original wiring, it won't function to
