In '68 and 69 the 1600 is 0-7000 rpm and the 2000 is 0-8000. I assume the same holds true for 1970. As an aside, the 1600 speedo is 0-120 and the 2000 is either 0-140 or 0-160 - theory has it the so

I believe the '68 speedo is 120 for 1600 and 160 for 2000, but the '69-'70 speedo is 140 regardless of 1600 or 2000. The 2000 tach will fit/work in a 1600 (I have one). Not that I've ever revved abov

But waidminnit, my 70 1600 has a 140mph speedo! I'm not the original owner, but I doubt it's a replacement. It is a late one, built April 70, so possible they were using up stock on hand... -Marc T.

I could be mistaken, but from what I read, Nissan put the same speedo and tach in the 70 models to reduce the individual parts count. The 120 and 160 speedos were tossed in favor of a 140 for both c
