- Hi Ron, the problem can be just the tolerance ring in the fan clutch. They go for around $9.00CAN at Obsolete Auto (www.obsoleteauto.com), part no. EN-RING-UKC759. They also have the fan clutch liste

- Ron, I believe the advantage is at speed where the airflow is sufficient to cool and thus the fan clutch slips. You'll cool the radiator more than necessary with a fixed fan, but then the thermostat
