Hey Listers,
I have yet another heater control valve that will not open and close
smoothly. The cable must be binding and I know for a fact that getting the
lever on the valve to pass over the closing notch is almost impossible.
When I open and close the valve using the knob inside the car, it is hard to
pull out and when closing, it is very springy..... binding.
My question is two fold.
1. Is there more than one make (brand) of heater control valves, or do all
the big 3 carry the same? I feel as though the design is highly
questionable.
2. What is with the cable? How many different ways is there to route it
through the fire wall? I find it hard to believe that the binding is caused
by bad routing and that it is more the valve that is defective.
Any thoughts?
