Sorry Ken, but to remove the solenoid you're probably going to have to
remove the tunnel.  Some cars are supposed to have access panels on the
driver side of the tunnel that allow you to access the solenoid, but
I've never seen one.  You could try just pulling the main power feed
off the overdrive relay to see if that makes a difference, but I don't
think it's electrical problems that is holding your OD on, it sounds
more like something mechanical (stuck solenoid or something).
