Graham---30lb. of oil pressure at 3000 rpms is definitely on the low
side. Unless you put your engine into stressful situations, (speed up
long hills, drag race, etc.) it could last many more miles without doing
anything. Especially the part about not using any oil. Without knowing
more about the miles on this engine, or interim work being done, you
also could probably increase the oil pressure by 20lb. with something as
simple as a rod and crank main bearing change.
You didn't mention the weight of the oil you now use.
