        Folks:

        Dumping the fan is a good idea for anything except originality;
You free up horsepower, make the engine quieter, and improve mileage.
This is why all new cars now sport electric fans.
        Low restriction K&N filters will get you about 2% more power
(2 HP) on an otherwise stock motor. The fan will get you 5 (? - shrug)
HP more to the rear wheels, although your motor will not actually make
any more power. It simply wastes less of the power it does make.

        Cheers,

        Vance

Bob,

If I read all of this correctly, for general driving the best idea is
dump the fan, right?

Is it worth going to a lower restriction filters such as the K&N

Thanks

Steve
