John,

Sounds like your having the same problem I had. Check the archives reply (just
last week) from Bob Lang on the Dizzy adjustment question from Gene Hart. If
your dizzy is not pointing about vertical to the engine (IE: Vacume pointing
twords driver (+ or - 20 Deg), and the tach housing pointing twords the master
brake cylinder, then you have the drive gear off a couple of teeth. You cannot
install the dizzy backwards, it's keyed. Or so I'm told.

To start you must set the #1 cylinder to TDC on compression stroke, then make
sure the drive dog in the dizzy housing is at about 7PM (the thing that
connects to the helical gear, oil pump and cam) slide the dizzy back in and
make sure it seats into the groove, fiddle it about. Then keeping it a bit
loose, start the bad boy up. rotate the dizzy to dial in a good idle. Then get
out the timing light to zero it in.

The reply from Bob Lang was spot on. And for about 10 minutes the car ran fine,
unfortunately for me the float valve got stuck in the closed poison on the
front carb, fuel went everywhere it was not pretty. So I can't start the thing
back up until i fix that issue.(remove, clean, blow it out, reset). And a
thanks to all who replied to my fuel problem.
