Well if you live in an urban area your choice of shops is much greater,
typically anything that looks like it might be a chop shop will probably do
;-)

I crafted my original words because the only shop in my area that could
remove a security lug nut from my VW Jetta was one with a HUGE, I would
estimate, 25x16 Confederate Rebel flag painted on the back cinder block wall
of the shop. These guys are hardcore, the outside of the shop is painted
General Lee Orange with white and black trim. All of the other shops in the
area, including the tire shop down the street, had no clue as to how to
remove the lugnut.

I didn't even bother checking with my VW dealer, they probably would have
wanted $85 an hour just to diagnose the fact that my security lug nut was
indeed unremovable. Then they would have spent the next hour on the phone
with VW trying to see if there was a service bulletin that would help them
get the lug nut off. Then they would have called the district VW rep to
come over and...

So how do you get a security lug nut off? With about 10-15 minutes of
perserverance with an air chisel, chiseling at an angle so as to attempt to
force the lug bolt to rotate out. Very destructive to the bolt and
fortunately not even a nick in my 17" wheels.

  Kai
