Nick---Piston heights are not always identical, so before a block is
decked, these heights should be measured when the pistons are at TDC.
(Mine checked out to be between .012 and .015) When exact compression
ratios are the goal, the block is decked to the lowest piston height.
Those pistons that are now above the deck then need to have their tops
shaved. Pistons then need to be re-weighed and material removed from the
skirts to equal the lightest piston, blah, blah.

The recessed grooves that are removed during the decking process should
be replaced, to take advantage of this extra protection from blown
gaskets. (No grooves in the heads)

Anyone know the stock piston clearance to the top of the block for a
stock 74 TR6? Also I'm wondering if anyone has the recessed head gasket
grooves cut back into their heads after shaving for compression increase
on a late head.
        As always thanks in advance!
