We have built and installed X cross overs and Y merge pipes in place of the
stock dual intermediate pipes. The exhaust note becomes noticibily smoother
as a result and the power band seems to be more responsive, with some more
top end capability over 5000RPM where a stock motor begins to disappoint.
No specific figures as I have never had a customer who solely wanted to dyno
(before/after) the benefits of just the new intermediate pipe.

I initially started using the X crossovers on a customer's engine that we
built using the TriumphTune road header. The motor did 164HP and 178ft/lbs,
which met the original build goals. About a year later he wanted some more
top end performance, without doing anything major to the motor like a cam
change or more head work. The X crossover was something I had been wanting
to try for a while and thought it may work well with the header on this
motor. It did, the motor had more top end punch and he frequently takes it
to 6300RPM or so now. He wasn't happy that the exhaust note changed, as it
is less aggressive now through his ANSA exhaust.

I sourced the X and Y sections I needed from Burns Stainless, and if you
give them your exhaust system specifications and some details about your
motor they can tell you where to place the crossovers for the most benefit.
Pricey though.
