Listers,

It's been a while since I've contributed to the list - the new digest system
makes it hard to keep up! Anyway, its been an interesting 12 months or so
with my series 2. With the fire I've already mentioned on the list, the
following carbie problems (by the way, it was worn needles - but funny how
it appeared suddenly), a broken axle (the wheel and still attached brake
drum fell off when I jacked up the car!!), a chewed out front hub and now an
interesting brake problem. Over the last few days I've noticed that the
brake pedal is staying "down" a little after applying the brakes. It
eventually returns, so I'm guessing either a partially collapsed brake hose
or a master cylinder problem - any ideas?
On other matters - Paul, where can you get those minilite replicas and how
much? Russel, the Alpine Lemans replica that is (was?) for sale was once
owned (and built up by) a stalwart NSW Sunbeamer by the name of Rick Marks.
Rick used to run the car in regularity events at historic race meetings and
used his Lotus 11 Lemans in the racing events. I think Rick has a thing
about Lemans because prior to this he owned (and raced!!) one of the
original Lemans Tigers before selling it (for rumoured truckloads of the
folding stuff) across the Pacific.
