Tigers and 'Pines,

It has come to my attention that our mailing list, while helpful to
many, has not taken upon itself
to ponder and acclaim an individual annual Award of Merit for deserving
Tiger/Alpine people.

I am therefore proclaiming the First Annual Sunbeam Award of Merit to
Rick McLeod, owner of
"Sunbeam Specialties". Rick is a kind, mild mannered gentleman, with
unending patience with Sunbeam
owners, and has had high quality Sunbeam parts specifically made to keep
our cars running, instead
of junked. Single handedly he has provided newly designed and made
replacement parts, often of
much better quality than the original.

For a long time this was a one man operation, and has only recently
increased his staff, partly through
marriage. We owners owe a large debt of gratitude to his efforts to
lead the way in "keeping them running",
and is ever helpful with owner's problems.

He has graciously allowed TigersUnited.com to reproduce the pages of his
self published reproduction of
the original Sunbeam Tiger Workshop Manual he produced and sells.

Of course we still recommend buying this book from him, as dragging the
computer into the garage is not simple,
and it sells for less than the ink cartridges. :-)

His own Sunbeam Specialties web site is: http://www.rootes.com/

To Rick McLeod,

Thank you, and congratulations, Rick, for your steadfast devotion to the
Marque from your multitude of friends.
Please accept this First Annual Award of Merit (2005) from your many
friends.

To the Tiger Community:

List members. Please be sure to add your personal comment on this
First Award, and to
start thinking about nominees for next year's award. We can publish a
list of nominees, and
get a List vote the next time. Meanwhile, I am sure no one will contest
this Award of Merit
to Rick. Our list will thrive on positive thinking. There are a great
many deserving people,
out there, who equally deserve consideration and commendation.

Steve
