Eric asked "In Stock Class, is it legal to use spacers in addition to
the factory supplied bump stops on the struts?"

No.

"Just asking so please don't shoot. Or if you do shoot, shoot straight
so that it'll end quicker. ;^)"

Straight enough? <grin> Unless the shop manual says so, you can't.
At least, I can't find it in the 98 Neon R/T manual. It was a x-mas
gift to Denise. I think she would have rather gotten a ring. Go
figure.

Regarding the memory tach, I would think you could find a used G-Analyst
for the same price. Double that and you could get the GEEZ! "I wish it
wasn't so expensive" software. (Byron, I'm kidding!) Then you'd know
even more about your runs.

Eric also wrote... "I bought the "Drive To Win, The Essential Guide To
Race Driving" book by Carroll Smith."

I see a lot of me in you during my 1st year of autocrossing. I asked a
zillion questions regarding car prep, got all excited and spent too much
money on my car thinking this would make me competitive. The most
helpful thing turned out to be an x-mas gift of the book you mentioned
above (Thanks again, Denise!). Don't get me wrong, keep asking
questions. That's what team.net is for and that's how you learn. But
the best way to lower your times is to read and understand the theories
in the book. You can even accurately practice those theories during the
winter months using Sierra's Grand Prix Legends sim. Yes, FWD is a
little different but it's all about weight management and listening to
your tires. Car prep can shave off tenths of a second. Driver
improvement can shave off whole seconds. Have fun!
