Just a quick reminder for anyone within driving distance of
Shreveport, Louisiana. Red River Region has a local event this coming
Sunday, August 29th, at Red River Raceway. That's the fabulous new
IHRA dragstrip 20 miles north of Shreveport on US Highway 71 in the
little cotton-growing burg of Gilliam (Gill-um) Louisiana. They've
got 12-1/2 acres of dead-level-flat asphalt in their paddock area and
it's ours for the day. It's 430 feet wide by 1420 feet long and it's
waiting for you. Yes, Texas Region is running on the same day at
Mineral Wells but, if Shreveport is closer for you or if you'd just
like to experience this fantastic site, come join us!

Where's Shreveport? It's 200 miles due east of Dallas on I-20, in the
northwest corner of Louisiana. And, even though this is short notice,
if you'd like to learn more about Shreveport/Bossier City just check
out the Miss Teen USA pageant at 8 o'clock (central time) tonight on
CBS TV. It originates from here and will be interspersed with all
sorts of little clips and vignettes about this part of the country.

Y'all come on up/down/over and play with us this Sunday!!! 8<{)
