The breakdown of entries per class seems to vary dramatically by region.
I don't think that SCCA can possibly make classes that balance perfectly
everywhere--the best they can do it shoot for balance over all (and
aren't they reworking SP for just this purpose)?
For instance, the post that this is written in response to had way more
CSP cars than DSP cars. At NEDivs, there were TONS of DSP cars. A fair
showing for CSP, but TONS of DSP cars. In my home region (which houses a
university with an FSAE team), often the class with the most entries (not
so many CARS, but most ENTRIES) is AM, but we NEVER see BM, CM, or DM.
The region just to the south of us seems to have more than their share of
BM and CM, but hardly ever sees AM.
