I know of two that have less in them than you do in your car right now.

For one, they're doing the same thing you did and bought a USED car, like,
an '84-'86 Vette. Then, they're putting in LT4 engines, which cost about
what your car did - if you buy the whole service replacement motor. Neither
of them have $25,000 in them. Maybe $15,000 tops. I might be off a bit, but
it's NOWHERE near your base guess.

Seeing the recentness of a 240Z national champ, I'd hardly say they're not
there.

You can get an LS-1 Camaro for around $15,000. A LT-1 one goes clear back to
'93 and can be had for $6-7,000, then add the LT-4. However, to get one down
to 3100lbs, or acheive anything better than their standard 58/42
balance...... There's where the REAL money would start to flow......
