My issue wasn't cheating vs. honesty, more of a cartoon
about the hillbilly and his beatup '49 Ford listening
to a De Tomaso and Lotus owner arguing over decals, but
I certainly agree with you. SCCA Solo II is _supposed_
to be "amateur" racing, isn't it? What's to cheat about?
Another reason I don't race the Vette anymore...just to
get an extra set of wheels and Hoosiers or whatever would
have cost me more than what I've got invested in my beater.
I never realized money was such a _major_ factor in deciding
who was gonna win in "amateur" racing. Driving skills aside,
street Bridgestones just can't outrun T/A R1's. I came real
close a few times, but was always half a second and $2000
shy of that 1st place trophy.
Which reminds me to ask...since the new ST class is split
street vs. racing tires, why shouldn't that apply to the
Stock classes it came out of? If they did that, I might
dust off the Vette and have a go at SS again.

for those of us who _do_ adhere to it. People always wonder
why I, with my "super hot Prepared racer", mentally compare
my times to the C stockers, and get excited when I see that
I actually beat one of them. 8-D
But then, if I were any less competitive, my sport would
probably be solitaire. ;)
