Yeah, any VR6 Volkswagen, as well as the Golf/Jetta 1.8t. I thought I
had been raising awareness of the VR6 Vokswagens, but I guess it hasn't
been for long enough yet.

The Corrado VR6, and for that matter any VR6 cars were not included in
the Class 8 list. I think this is a great spot for them, and the class
would be very course dependant. The power courses would favor the
larger cars, and the tighter course will favor the CRX, SE-R and
Celicas. I think the Prelude should be in Class 8 as well. Locally
there is a well driven Celica ST, Prelude VTEC ('93) and my Corrado.
We all run very close together in times at most events. As much as the
Celica ST looks like an underdog on paper, it's damn fast.

Another Obvious error that I see is the Audi TT remaining in Class 8.
It would be the only AWD car in the class and thus have an unfair
advantage in ProSolo competition. None have been prepped to the limit
yet, but I think Harrisburg's results showed their ProSolo potential
with a car that has zero prep. I feel the TT Quattro should be in
Class 5 and the TT FWD in Class 8.

Which brings up the Turbo Beetle (and by default Golf/Jetta) in Class
9, I think they would dominate there. The cars have a monster tourqe
curve and killer gearing. Couple that with the possibility to run
245/45/16 tires and the car becomes an overdog. I should keep my mouth
shut, as this would create a VW dominated class but I am a fair person
and I don't think this is too fair. Keep the 2.0 New Beetle in Class
9, and put the Turbo cars in Class 8. The 2.0 cars have a good amount
of potential in Class 9 anyway.

Here are my thoughts on the Neon vs. Type-R fued... If you look at the
results, GS and DS are always close. It does make sense. I have an
issue with a 3200lb. AWD car being in the same class as a 2300lb. FWD
car however. The DSM is an odd beast... The times really seem close
in post results tough. It makes sense in a historical perspective, but
certainly not in a 'feel' perspective.

Here's where competitors will have to trust the SCAC/SEB. I think they
are right on here, with a few noted exceptions (VW stuff above) on
things that affect me. The rest of the proposal seems pretty good, but
I know more about the potential of D-H Stock more than S-C Stock. I'll
be writing my letter of approval with a few suggestions... but I think
they SCAC have come up with a very fair solution for addressing classes
that are not making much sense anymore. And I'm not just saying that
because I won't have to deal with the Type-R's/Eclipses anymore. :)
