Sorry Colan, but as I understand it, "ALL" does not mean *all*.  I offer the
427 Cobra that ran a couple of years ago (before the big accident).  The
roll bar was clearly below the top of the driver's helmet.  As was explained
to me when I questioned it, because the Cobra "was" legal however many years
ago, it is grandfathered in.  I didn't pursue the issue further, so I don't
know if that is the whole story or not.

Then again, Chris O'Donnell's roll bar doesn't meet "all requirements"  of
appendix C either.

Please read 3.3.1. Basically it says, If non OEM upper body restraints are
used,
ALL open cars must have a roll bar meeting all requirements of Appendix C.
As
usual, ALL means All, not some.

In other words, if you use the stock restraints in an open car, no problems,
but
if you have an open car and don't use stock upper body restraints, you need
an
Appendix C roll bar.  The issue is a shoulder harness will hold the driver
upright when the car is upside down, the stock restraints will not.
