I took the chicken's way out -- I just said "AS: 10 models. 'Vettes again,
mixing it up with Porsches. Regionally, add the BMWs and the Supra TT." I
didn't specify which of the two flavors of 'Vette listed. Pressed, I'd have
to guess the ZR-1 would hold an upper hand.

The F-body tuners (Camaro SS and Firebird WS6) are listed in BS, not AS.

If the S2000 and/or the Boxster S go to AS, I'd agree. But they're not yet
classed, and right now, there just aren't that many other cars in AS:

NSX? Telepathic handling, but not enough torque. It's almost like driving
a turbocharged car -- you have to spool up the engine a bit to make things
move.

BMW M-twins? Regionally, very good. I'd call the coupe an outside chance
nationally, because they're light and they handle well. Note that these are
the "old" engine cars, not the newer ones, which are in SS. I could be
under-rating them a bit, but I don't think they're overdogs.

Pantera/Mangusta? Even on the rare occasions you see one, I don't think
they dance as well as the 'Vette.

Porsche 911/993 (non-turbo)? The other car that the matters in the new AS.
I think the 'Vette has an edge in low-rpm power that counts for something.
And given the numbers of 'Vette drivers out there, even if the 911 is a
little faster, I suspect it'll show in smaller numbers, which opens up some
possibilities.

Saleen Mustang? Torque -- but I don't think it dances as well.

Cobra? Like the Pantera, only rarer.

Supra Turbo? Certainly regionally. Maybe nationally...but I'd still bet on
the 'Vette or the Porsche.

Now the only cars off that list I've *ever * driven are the C4 'Vette (not a
ZR-1) and the NSX, so everything else is a best guess -- but I'm still
willing to put my name on it.
