Yeah, both are still illegal for stock.  In ASP, I don't think you can do
anything to the boost controllers, but I don't know for sure.

Well, you're kinda saying two things here...  On the one hand you're
saying "hey, I'm new, I'll suck anyway, so will anyone really care that I
have a minor illegality problem with my car?" and on the other you're
saying "Hey, I don't wanna run in ASP because I won't be competitive".

Those two statements kinda disagree.

If you don't end up doing the boost altering, I'd say ASP would make
sense.  Your car will be down compared to the ASP/SS running in ASP z06's,
but probably not enough so that in a novice class you wouldn't have a good
shot.

If you want to do the boost altering, run in SM2 (assuming its illegal in
ASP like I think it is).

If you want to run in stock, get a new precat and stock computer.
Honestly though, you'll be running against essentially the same z06's
you'd be running against in ASP...
