Priebe was my Evolution (still McKamey then) instructor in Salina in 1999.
Funny thing was, despite a National Championship in Solo, he wasn't old
enough to rent a car for the weekend from the local rent-a-wreck. The event
organizer for that weekend had to do it for him. ;^)

Anyway, Brian was my instructor for the Phase 1 after-lunch drive-around.
With four people in the Neon, and me in the back seat because I wasn't quick
enough to call "shotgun" in my own car, he was explaining how he was going
to drive the slalom without actually looking at each cone, as Phase 1 would
teach us, but instead by focusing on the pivot cone at the turn-around
circle and watching the slalom cones only with peripheral vision. Oh yes,
one more thing. If you have the only 4-door car in the class, take a WAG
whose car is going to get volunteered for the drive-arounds. ;^)

So I sat there, in the back seat of my own car, grrrr, thinking "no F-ing
way". Well he did it. And he did it driving with only one hand while he
was pointing out what cones he was looking ahead towards with the other
hand. His time, with 4 people in the car, and driving one-handed, was
almost as fast as my best time, solo. Double grrrr.

Oh yes, one more thing. Even with four people in the car, he was easier on
the tires than Salerno is with just two in the car.
