While Kansas may appear to be flat, last year while driving/riding to
Nationals I noticed that upon entering Kansas from the west side from
Colorado the elvation was actually at 5000 feet.  Even though there was
no noticable change in altitude, when we got to Topeka the elevation
was around 1100 to 1200 feet.  So while Kansas may be flat, it is also
a little lopsided.
