Yes,
Kathy's MCoupe was (almost) totaled, but she was OK. Last year during
the start of a national's qualifying race another car (Cobra?) tried passing
Kathy on the grass and even though she gave him extra room he slid into her
caused chain reaction crash which resulted in her hitting a dirt embankment
at (maybe 80mph), rolled several times, and walked away! There was an MPEG
video on the z3 board which showed the crash from 3 perspectives including
Kathy's onboard camera. Wow!
Her car was completely rebuilt in less than a month in time for her to
qualify (she finished first?) in the last race prior to nationals. She (I
think) raced at nationals. The 40 or so images taken during the 10 stages of
the rebuild show some (IMHO) very professional work.
Way to go Kathy! I'm vicariously living her racing (although I only get
bits and pieces of her progress). Call me Walter Mitty!
