Right you are!
We went to Montreal last year, and stayed at
a nice little hotel near the cathedral -- on a
street that led up the banks of the river.
The local hansom cabs (horse driven) start
and end at the cathedral. Their final stop
before their stand is at the stoplight at the
top of our little street -- where the horses
inevitably took the opportunity to relieve
themselves. So our little street was a pretty
much steady stream of horse piss. And it
smelled that way, too. Now this is with maybe
four or five horses -- imagine a town with
200,000 horses. Thank god for the automobile!
