Gluing can be a long term fix. I repaired mine over 2 decades ago (both
windows). The secret is to get the metal track ABSOLUTELY clean. The first
time I fixed my window, it came loose again about a year later. Next time I
did not just wire brush it clean, I also used a grinding wheel until there
was no trace of rust. I took the glass and the track out of the door and
marked the position of the track on the glass ( used the old adhesive still
stuck to the glass to reposition the track then marked it ). Clean
everything well and reassemble. I don't remember which glue I used - I
think it a 3M product that I got from an auto glass shop. In the 1960s,
many autos had windows that were glued to the track like the Bricklin; so,
just tell the shop what you are doing and they should be able to recommend
the right glue.
