I also had these problems with an 88 RX7. I bought it with a bra, but
immediately took it off (What's the good of having a nice front end if
you're going to cover it?). The bumper was not only damaged in the paint,
but it was warped. It required a complete replacement.

More than a bra, what would be nice to see is a
matching pair of panties or garter belt for the rear bumper to protect it
from fuel spills and dribbles.
