I agree.  However, in the case of a hit and run, being hit by an uninsured
motorist, etc, your insurance co. has to pay.  So for that reason, I want
to make sure that my car is insured for $16K ish.  I don't want them to 
try and total it for $2K worth of damage.

There was a fellow on this list years ago, that wrecked his B.  He had been
fixing it up as he drove it and had over $10K in it.  But he had an actual
cash value policy and his ins. co. only gave him $3.8K for the car.  

I'm just tying to protect my investment.
